Challenge
Shortly after the completion of a reporting period, a real estate entity that has public reporting requirements saw the resignation of its Chief Accounting Officer. This left a void in their accounting group for key roles in reviewing the company’s Form 10Q and other critical documents. The company needed support to produce quality financial information so they could continue to file timely.
Action
The public real estate company called on Centri to provide expertise in connection with accounting support services, with possible activities including but not limited to a review of the company’s Form 10-Q, the preparation of the relevant GAAP and SEC checklists, assistance with responding to comments from auditors and attorneys, a review of management’s preparation of technical accounting analysis or preparation of position papers for complex accounting topics, and a review of routine accounting transactions.
Resolution
Centri developed a defined project plan based on each of the activities requested and assembled a team of professionals with the right expertise in each area. Centri then provided efficient completion of each activity by the time the company needed to deliver to their auditors.
Results
Because Centri was able to quickly deploy resources with the appropriate background by activity, the public real estate company filed their Form 10Q timely with the same level of quality as if they had a key financial reporting role employed by the company.
