Centri Welcomes Derek Kearns as Director

Philadelphia, PA – October 20, 2020 – Centri Business Consulting, LLC is excited to announce the addition of a new Director, Derek Kearns, to the firm. Derek has over 20 years of accounting experience in both public and private industries, including significant experience with international public filers in the technology, media and telecommunications sector, the mining industry and merchant services, as well as experience in the cannabis industry, manufacturing, and employee benefit plans.  Derek’s focus has been on Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) filings, including IPO registration statements, accounting for complex debt and equity transactions, business combination accounting, as well as international consolidations.

Most recently, Derek led the reporting and technical accounting functions at Mile High Labs, an international cannabinoid and CBD product manufacturer. At Mile High Labs, he guided the company through their initial financial statement audits and adoption of ASC 606 “Revenue from Contracts with Clients”, while documenting the accounting for multiple debt and equity transactions and business combinations, including down-stream mergers and stock compensation plans.

Prior to working in the cannabis industry, Derek founded his own consulting firm where he assisted one of the world’s largest international cable and broadband companies on various financial reporting, acquisition integration and international consolidations projects. He also led the establishment of financial reporting departments at several of his client’s joint venture companies overseas.

Derek has held management positions at multiple Fortune 250 companies, including a public gold exploration company where he oversaw the SEC reporting and technical accounting functions. Derek began his career at Deloitte, where he spent six years in the audit and assurance practice.

Derek received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Colorado.
